About the role
Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Solutions Architect (Training Delivery Lead)
Babcock operates a number of significant outsourced contracts for the provision of education and training services to the Royal Navy (RN). The training services comprise of Naval technical and tactical training and education, delivered by Babcock instructors as well as training support (e.g. training planning, equipment support, routine maintenance and training design). These contracts are being re-competed under a single strategic new procurement.
The Solutions Architect (Training Delivery Lead) post will provide the solution development within the bid team for all aspects of instructional delivery. This is a unique opportunity to transform RN training through the development of new approaches to learning and the exploitation of relevant learning technologies, working with a network of academic and technical suppliers. This post will be key in the development of these new approaches
You will report directly to the Head of Solution Development. Working closely with key stakeholders, contract managers and individuals within the bid team ensuring successful delivery of our win strategy activities, planning for innovative learning solutions and in delivering the final product.
Your key responsibilities will include designing the training delivery solution to ensure it meets the needs of the requirement. Developing an approach that will guarantee instructor SQEP maintenance across all contracted training delivery services. Identifying a methodology for the optimum utilisation of instructors. Identifying the optimum approach for tracking instructor SQEP for RN and contractor personnel. Identifying new approaches and technologies in the delivery of modern learning support solutions for the inclusion of bid submission. Supporting the identification, development and implementation of optimisation and modernisation, providing visible change leadership. Establishing and maintain the relationship between the bid team and key stakeholder personnel to ensure successful development of the solution. Supporting the Head of Solution Development in the creation of a solution that fully intergrates the Training Delivery approach.
What do I need to do the role?
You'll need a strong background in Teaching, Education, or Learning & Development with a Professional level qualification within the training/education sector.
Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:
  • Extensive experience of senior responsibility in the Royal Navy, ideally connected with training, or to have similar experience of civilian Training activities.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent.
  • Track record of managing international training in a leadership capacity into military or maritime organisations
  • Ability to liaise and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders customers in developing and managing training solutions to meet their needs
  • Project Management experience
What else do I need to know?
  • You should hold or have the ability to obtain SC security clearance.
  • Location: The main place of work will be Fareham / Portsmouth Area. The role requires a degree of flexibility; with a requirement for some travel between sites within the UK.
