NATS is the UK's leading air navigation service provider, handling over 2 million flights each year. It provides air traffic control services from two control centres supporting airports all around the UK, as well as a wide range of commercial solutions to over 30 countries internationally.

NATS has embarked on a major multi-year programme of work to modernise its systems and services. To effectively manage the new systems and services, they require an increased Service Operations Management (SOM) capability based on ITIL to minimise operational cost, predict and manage failures and improve overall quality of service delivered to its business and customers. SOM will provide multiple capabilities including Services Desk, Configuration Management, Monitoring and Management, Automation, Security Information & Event Management and Knowledge and Analytics as part of its scope.

We are recruiting for a Security Tooling Engineer to help develop the SOM toolset, specialising on the McAfee and Tenable suites. You will take ownership of the security tooling solution and ensure that it is of the highest quality.

Key duties/ responsibilities include:

  • Taking ownership and providing expert advice on security management systems, particularly McAfee ePO.
  • Maintaining and supporting security solution sets.
  • Providing expert advice on how to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Providing oversight over security penetration testing.
  • Creating and implementing an effective anti-virus solution.
  • Undertaking regular health checks.
  • Collating security event information and undertaking compliance reporting.
  • Essential skills and experience:

  • Strong knowledge of threat and vulnerability management.
  • Strong technical knowledge of McAfee ePO.
  • Experience of integrating security tools (AV, AAA, Firewall, Data Loss Prevention, IDS/IPS.
  • Experience of applying SIEM to cloud systems (VMware/ UCS)
  • Strong knowledge of security hardening and penetration testing.
  • McAfee ePO certification would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework is also beneficial.
