THE OPPORTUNITY We are actively seeking a highly personable and technically astute Software Development Support Specialist. The ideal person for this role will have experience supporting test plans, databases, software, documentation, and IWC requests in addition to other duties within NATO, the MoD, civil service, the wider armed forces or a defence organisation. As our First Line IT Support provider, you will give support on various tasks related to power equipment. This work is located in Brussels, Belgium and will suit those either already living there or willing and able to work within that location unencumbered. Sound like a great fit? THE ROLE Your daily role responsibilities will be as follows: Write an ITC test plan and build an ICC database that matches the test plan to test the models in the FLAMES simulation, test the HMI for ITC and test all interfaces to external systems, like COSI, ISI and the ICC database. For the FAT and the UAT a consolidated test plan that tests all models in the FLAMES simulation and tests all is needed with the accompanying ITC database. The contractor is to provide such a database and test plan. Test the ITC software, simulation models, the interface between databases in the various stages in the development phase. Finalize the various parts of the software to be tested. Specifically, the joint part of the ITC software and test reports are to be provided to NCIA on a periodic basis. Write documentation in support of the AFPL approval process for ITC when the software development is complete and AFPL approval This AFPL process requires extensive documentation in which you will write and contribute to the documentation. In order to do this properly the contractor needs to have knowledge about the interfaces between simulation, the ITC and the ICC database. The contractor will support and contribute to the development of ITC by providing expert knowledge about Air Command and Control, FLAMES simulation models and ITC HMI design. Readily able to provide support in the Java development. The contactor will travel to the FAT in NCIA The Hague and the UAT, most likely conducted in Poggio Renatico. Knows how support NATO, NATO Nation or PFP exercises using the ITC software tool IWC Requests - Software Development Support MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Passionate about this opportunity? Here are the basic qualifications. Experience working with the FLAMES object-orientated simulation systems and the C/C++ and Java language on tasks relating to model development, testing and employment Experience on ITC, ITC HMI design and implementation Experience in ICC and with applying and testing the JNI, COSI and ISI interface software packages and knowledge of the ICC data model in the Oracle database Experience in NATO air operations, experience in military command/control operations with working knowledge of military unit tactics and doctrine as well as impact of environmental conditions on military operations Experience in writing and building test cases for ITC using ICC and the NATO air operation doctrine Experience in developing simulation software Experience in exercise support in air operation exercises as a technical control officer on ITC Experience in conducting test events as test manager and NATO test documentation Willing to travel to NATO countries to conduct software installations and tests.
