An exciting role has become available in the Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) portfolio, which is based in the HR Policy & Reward team. This provides a unique opportunity for a delivery focused individual to work with key stakeholders to contribute to this high-profile agenda. 

You will have the opportunity to make a real difference, and to lead key projects that align to our diversity strategy. You will be passionate about IDE and will show a keenness to help deliver successful outcomes in improving diversity and inclusion. Drawing on your delivery skills you will scope and lead projects, undertake best practice research and utilise analysis in recommending and landing initiatives. You will forge relationships with stakeholders both within HR and across the agency, including our diversity network groups, in order to collaborate effectively and focus delivery. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Support the D&I Lead in the delivery of key D&I strategic objectives. 
• Develop and lead a number of your own specific D&I interventions and projects that support the broader D&I objectives. 
• Build effective relationships with key stakeholders including the immediate team, wider HR function and diversity network groups. 
• Manage correspondence in the D&I mailbox, providing subject matter expertise and advise. 
• Manage the day-to-day running of D&I activities and the secretariat for key meetings, including preparation and following up on actions, proactively escalating issues, building networks and influencing. 
• Actively research and keep up to date on best practice across the Civil Service and other organisations. 
• Act as an ambassador for D&I, identifying key areas of collaboration across the HR function. 

In addition, you will be required to: 

Undertake other HR Policy & Reward roles and projects as required, ensuring work is completed within agreed timescales/budgets. 

Essential Skills: 

• Experienced in developing, leading and delivering priority programmes and initiatives. 
• Good project management skills. 
• Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with the confidence and ability to communicate clearly and effectively with staff at all grades. 
• Good drafting skills. 
• Genuine passionate and enthusiasm about D&I. 
• Strong at building relationships at all levels. 
• Can-do attitude and proactivity to identify issues and recommend solutions. 
• Good analytical skills to be able to assimilate and draw themes from data. 
• Organised and efficient, and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Security

Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is security check

Security Check and Role Requirements 

To be considered for this vacancy, you will need to successfully complete SC clearance before commencing the role and for specified roles DV clearance within the first 12 months as part of your probation period. 

You will also be required to undertake a mandatory pre-employment substance misuse test and achieve a satisfactory result. 

To meet National Security Vetting requirements you will need to have resided in the UK for at a minimum 3 out of the past 5 years for SC clearance and a minimum of 7 out of 10 years for DV clearance. You will still be considered if you were posted abroad as part of your service with the HMG or armed forces or a UK government role during this period.
