About the role
Here at Babcock we're looking to recruit a Senior Project Manager to join the team to take accountability for delivery of Dreadnought Boat 2 WHLS & SSEs and secure future Boat 3 & 4 contracts.
Ideally you will have experience of DST submarine products, delivering design and manufacture services, liaising with design & manufacturing engineering and supply chain functions.

As Senior Project Manager, reporting into the Head of Build, will be responsible for the current Dreadnought Boat 2 LLI contract and the negotiation of the full Boat 2 contract, followed by future Boat 3 and 4 contracts.

What do I need to do the role?
You'll need to have APM PFQ and APM PMQ (or old APMP) and Engineering and Defence experience. You will be responsible for the accurate identifying, planning and controlling risk and opportunity to maximise value for the customer and our business

Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:
  • Line management of assigned project team including performance appraisal and career development support
  • Strategic leadership and direction of the cross functional project team
  • Responsibility for the Profit & Loss (P&L) for the assigned complex project and reporting accurate and timely financial reports
  • Consolidated planning, implementation, monitor and control of the project scope, schedule, resource requirements, budgets, quality and HSE requirements
  • Delivering project scope in accordance with commercial requirements and customer needs
  • Planning and controlling finances by means of accurate estimation, forecast to complete and strong monitoring and control of spend
  • Establishing and maintaining governance arrangements for the delivery of the project, defining clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities across all project stakeholders and ensuring they are communicated
  • Managing the Customer and Supplier interface to ensure timely delivery of the project scope and successful satisfaction of customer needs whilst maximising business value

Lastly, you'll need to give support to Business Winning activities including proposal development and evaluation and optimisation of the preferred solution. You will ensure the planning and delivering the stakeholder and communications management for the project through systemic identification and analysis of stakeholders, and the planning and conduct of interactions to engage and communicate with them
