About the role

Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit an experienced Retail Manager to join our Training Division as a Retail Trainer. We are a trusted name across the training and apprenticeships market and have an enviable track record in delivering intelligent and compelling workforce development solutions and are one of the UK's largest and most reputable training providers.

You'll be part of a large team of Apprenticeship Trainers and Assessors who provide training to numerous markets including Retail, Automotive, Warehousing, Facilities Management and Hospitality. Within Hospitality, we offer Apprenticeship Programmes for Alcohol Beverage Service, Barista, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Reception and Cookery up to a Senior Level.
Clients include some of the worlds largest Catering and Hotel Organisations.

Using your experience as either a Commis Chef, Sous Chef, Chef De Partie or Head Chef you will train and support learners who are on an 18 month Apprenticeship Programme for either Level 2 or Level 3 in Professional Cookery.

You will visit the learners in the London area at their workplace and deliver teaching, learning and assessment towards their Apprenticeship, including functional skills qualifications (Maths and English). You will maintain documentation within the e-portfolio system, identify and engage with potential employers and learners and build on existing client relationships.

As well as being part of a business that support over 14,000 apprentices, we'll also provide you with all the training that you need to become a fully qualified Apprentice Trainer and Assessor.

What do I need to do the role?

You'll need to be either a Commis Chef, Sous Chef, Chef De Partie or Head Chef and have a keen interest in supporting people through their Apprenticeship.

We would also like you to have the following:

• GCSE A-C in Maths & English or equivalent
• Excellent organisational skills and a professional demeanour
• Have a valid driving licence and your own car, with a willingness to travel within the region

What else do I need to know?

• Most locations are in Central London but you need to be willing to travel to sites within Greater London.
• Travel expenses are covered.
• Salary is £27,470, increasing to £29,000 upon successful completion of Academy of Education and Training Course.
• Excellent benefits.
• Permanent position, 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
