About the role
Here at Babcock we are looking to recruit a SOC Analyst for Babcock International - a FTSE 250 engineering and support services organisation. You will be joining an energetic and good humoured team of highly skilled security analysts who are responsible for cyber security on a large estate of information systems operating on a global scale.

Your main responsibilities will include the analysis of security events, network traffic, log data, malicious code and e-mails. You will also be creating SIEM rules for alerting and writing IDS/IPS signatures. You will also be part of an on call rota 1 in 5 weeks of the year.

What do I need to do the role?

  • You will either have experience as a SOC Analyst or a Programmer/Network Engineer/Systems Administrator with an interest in security. A relevant degree such as Computer Forensics, Computer Security, Cyber Security, Network Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber/Digital Forensics will also be desirable.
  • You must have experience with any of the following languages: Javascript, Python, Perl, PHP, Powershell, Bash, C#/VB.Net.

We are open to receiving applications from candidates with differing levels of experience.

What else do I need to know about the role?

  • You will work a 37.5 hour week Monday-Friday with flexible start and finish times
  • You will be on an on call rota 1 in 5 weeks with extra remuneration
  • All applicants must be happy to go through DV (Developed Vetting) Clearance for this role
