Programme Manager - Defence: A major Defence company is looking for a Programme Manager at their site in Luton or Bristol with some travel.

Programme Manager - Defence Responsibilities:
* Develop and lead the Mode 5 Export IFF IPT as an organisation focused on high performance to successfully deliver the IPTs business targets as defined in the IBBP and to achieve of all contractual requirements.
* Deliver all projects to an agreed time, cost and margin within the Mode 5 Export IFF Programme.
* Manage and lead the ongoing development and/or improvement of relationships with customers and suppliers for current and future projects.
* Develop and deliver a campaign strategy road map for the Mode 5 Export in conjunction with other disciplines
* Provide direct line management, leadership, feedback, career development and performance management of junior Project Management staff.
* Support the development of functional members of the IPT
(engineering, sales, planning etc.) And work with functional management leads to meet current and future skills requirements including succession planning
* Develop and maintain communication and collaboration across company (Division, Line of Business and Sector) to ensure a coordinated approach to the shared customer base and opportunities consistent with the values of the company.
* Anticipate, mitigate and manage dependencies, risks and synergies in support of increased business performance.
* Prioritise and balance the resources both directly and indirectly within the Mode 5 IFF Export IPT and S3 LoB.
* Champion business winning activities within the IPT to achieve or exceed business targets.
* Maximise follow on sales, and support the development of business growth of the IPT and Business Area.

Programme Manager - Defence Skills & Qualification:
* Proven experience as a Programme Manager or other managerial position
* Experience of remotely managing of multi-disciplined teams to deliver multi million pound development and production projects, with a focus on achieving high performance against objectives
* Demonstrated ability to influence both internally and externally at all levels, including senior management.
* Good computer literacy, including all Microsoft Office applications and SAP functions related to Project execution, cost control and planning.
* Working knowledge and experience of policies & practices in particular related to Life Cycle Management, Risk Management and Project Execution.
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally
* Ability to proactively manage poor performance and conflict resolution to mitigate detrimental impact to the customer, IPT and project objectives
* Able to provide effective delegation, management and coordination of tasks and activities to achieve the objectives of the IPT including setting clear objectives / expectations on output with assigned budget and timescales
* Able to work autonomously
* Flexible and adaptable to change and adversity with the ability to manage the IPTs motivation and enthusiasm throughout.
* Working knowledge of Engineering, Commercial and Procurement aspects of project execution.
* Typically degree qualified or equivalent.
* APMP or PRINCE-2 Certified

The successful candidate will be required to obtain SC Clearance!!!!
