We're looking for a technically proficient software engineer to join our cutting-edge defence applications development team. In this role, you'll use your expertise to produce software solutions up to the challenge of our central government and military customers' most advanced needs

At BAE Applied Intelligence, you'll be working amongst the forefront experts in the industry, and gain the kind of experience that quickly puts you in technical lead roles on future state-of-the-art projects. We value enthusiasm and ability to learn just as much as the skills you already have, and recognise key talent early - from day one, you'll be eligible for salary bonuses, and have access to our fantastic on-site amenities, sports clubs, special interest groups, and private medical cover.

Don't know that one technology you've always wanted to get involved in? At BAE we'll develop you into the developer you want to be

In this role you will:

  • Design and develop entirely new software products to fulfil the rapidly changing needs of the defence industry
  • Work on a variety of projects and products, finding your niche in the area of the business that most suits your talents and ambitions
  • Get involved with hackathons, monthly drinks, team socials, and an overwhelming quantity of KitKats

What we look for:

  • Strong academic background in a STEM field, and the ability to quickly learn new skills
  • Experience in developing advanced software products, or postgraduate study in a relevant field
  • Professional experience programming in modern languages in an Agile environment
  • Experience working with PowerShell would be an advantage

How we support you

  • Work life balance is important; you'll get up to 30 days holiday a year
  • You can work around core hours with flexible and part-time working
  • You'll have a career manager and get involved with innovation days, so you can develop your career aspirations
  • You'll be part of a bonus scheme
  • Private medical insurance for when you need it

Candidates must eligible to work in a secure environment.
