About the role
Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Stores Person to join the team. You will be working in a Customer facing role reporting to the Site Manager. The role provides comprehensive logistic and storage solutions for Babcock DST and its customers. The role is also responsible for providing a Contract Warranty & Quotation Repair Service, Returns (quarantine) Service and assisting the procurement team in returning items to suppliers and customers.

What do I need to do the role?
You'll need to support the Customer as directed in the management of the stores function, adhere to Customer and Babcock quality standards in support of appropriate ISO documentation and audit trails for materials and goods. You will also carry out Customer asset audits and control the stores' inventory database as directed by the Customer.

Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:
  • To interface with customers, suppliers and colleagues to contribute to the smooth running of the stores functions and ensuring the smooth transfer of goods to include issuing, receipt and returns.
  • To assist in the provision of statistical information required by the Customer.
  • To assist as directed by the Customer to record health and safety data information for COSHH type products and the Management of COSHH across the site ensuring all measures are in place for correct and safe use of COSHH items.
  • To ensure a high standard of housekeeping within the stores to minimise risks to Health and Safety.
  • To ensure individual safety and those of peers / subcontractors, within the site and where necessary advise the Customer of potential risks and mitigation.
  • Undertake tasks to support the Disposals Service which will include dismantling and all associated paperwork.
Lastly, you'll need to constantly engage with the customer to identify assets/spares with no transitional evidence to recommend disposal or transfer and Undertake any duties over and above those listed, within reason, as directed by the Operations Manager or member of the SMT.

What else do I need to know?
  • Must possess general stores skills with relevant, practical experience in a related environment.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint and Outlook.
  • Possess a full, UK Driving Licence.
  • Possess, or be willing to obtain a Fork Lift/Telehandler qualification.
  • Use of Asset Manager and Service Manager, if not trained will be required to learn.

This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material regularly. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo DV and SAO security clearances before taking up this post. Additionally, this material is of particular sensitivity to the UK and its distribution must be restricted to UK nationals.
