About the role
The Facilities Business Support team is tasked with delivery of cross business unit improvement activities to ensure certainty of delivery, building capacity, innovation, MSDF cost saving and supporting the growth agenda. The team delivers a wide range of business support activities including lean techniques, risk management, strategic development, identification and delivery of business improvement initiatives.

What do I need to do the role?
You'll need to be a self-motivating individual, with a high degree of understanding of operating within the business improvement arena. Ability to operate in a partnering environment with an aptitude for high customer service levels with a high level of customer focus.

You will also need to have experience in the following areas:
  • To Lead/Manage Business Improvement and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) Projects, delivering to time, cost and quality.
  • To support the BIM in introducing Strategic changes to the Facilities Operational Departments, ensuring they are aligned to the overall M & T strategic direction.
  • To identify and standardise metrics and measures across the business (both input and output) that can be used to determine performance improvements and operational effectiveness.
  • •Co-ordinate with other Business Improvement Teams to ensure a consistent approach to continuous Improvement across Business Units at Devonport and Clyde.
  • •Support the BIM in the co-ordination role as the IT business representative for Devonport Operations.
  • •Support organisational redesign, ensuring compliance with LC 36 requirements and Spans and Layers principles.

Lastly, you'll need to have a proven track record of delivering improvement projects thorough full project lifecycle and Project Management experience (3 years minimum) and proven use of appropriate Lean Tools such as VSM, RRCA, OEE, SMED etc.

What else do I need to know?
•A qualification at degree level in a business or engineering discipline (or operating towards becoming a chartered member of an institute) would be beneficial for this role.
•A formal lean management qualification (Green Belt minimum)
