Role Summary/Purpose:
    The Commodity Analysis Specialist is responsible for supporting the analysis, development and implementation of the sourcing strategy for an assigned area of spend or business segment.
Essential Responsibilities:
    You will work directly with designated external vendors to identify, assess and develop, capabilities, processes and procedures, ensuring rate readiness for A350, and other programmes as required, to ensure the successful transfer of product and full production readiness. Under guidance negotiate contracts to secure Quality, Delivery and Cost and drive supplier performance. Assist the development and implementation of robust supply chain solutions to support the business needs and effect short and long-term business goals.Main Responsibilities include:
  • Facilitate the collection and analysis of data to effectively measure and report performance.
  • Provide leadership through proactively working with suppliers to assess capability and capacity to support business needs and programme demand requirements.
  • Support the APQP process, reporting on progress on a weekly basis.
  • Manage the communication between suppliers and the appropriate GE functions.
  • Ensure the supplier adherence to project plans and liaise with supplier if there are any issues identified.
  • Manage the commercial requirements of the Transfers of Work including RFQ's and price management
  • Ensure process efficiency, simplification and effectiveness that supports a zero defect to customer approach resulting in on-time delivery of goods.
  • Identify and implement saving opportunities related to supplier processes, procedures, cycle time reduction, productivity improvements, material utilisation and digitization initiatives.
  • Ensure successful project implementation to meet customer delivery requirements and cost objectives.
  • Support the business in the development and the execution of long term commodity strategies.
  • Participate in multi-functional teams to deliver strategic objectives.
  • Support the effective management of business relationships with assigned suppliers.
  • Under guidance support and develop negotiation strategies and lead negotiations to achieve stated goals and objectives.
  • Provide input into supplier selection, development, and overall supplier management in accordance with the business strategy and end customer requirements
  • Follow GE policies on selection of Suppliers and Contract negotiations, including Military/USG pricing.
  • Proactively support supplier performance management, plan and work with the suppliers to manage any required recovery plans / actions
  • Own Supplier quality issues ensuring appropriate focus and corrective/preventative actions are closed out in the shortest possible timeframe
  • Provide support to achieve the value creation / savings targets for assigned commodity and take ownership of specific projects as assigned.
  • Develop technical and market expertise in commodity area
  • Provide analysis and reports for sourcing team and wider business including KPI's, deflation, cycle reduction, LCC Sourcing development and cash flow improvement
  • Interface with the other site teams as directed to address any project requirements, fulfilment planning or issues that arise.
  • Provide input to site make vs buy process as requested
  • Under guidance identify and qualify new suppliers
  • Assess supplier capabilities and make recommendations on supplier acceptability
  • Implement sourcing standards including process & execution, synergies for cost out.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Degree qualification or equivalent with extensive experience in a Sourcing role
  • Verbal communications and interpersonal skills
  • Time management, scheduling and prioritisation skills
