RINA are looking for highly knowledgeable Electrical Engineer to join our Materials Technology & Innovation business unit based in Leatherhead.  Our exciting opportunity would be perfect for an Electrical Engineer that is looking to work closely with customers as well as work on a wide range of Electrical assets.

The role

As an Electrical Engineer you will work as part of an established team across a variety electrical engineering projects in Industry, Utilities and Commerce at all voltages from transmission to low voltage.

Reporting to Team and Technical Leads, you will work with Project Engineers to deliver on tasks required and take guidance from technical and operational leads. As well as having variety of projects to be a part of, you will have site based work including high voltage systems condition assessment at power stations, refineries and oil platforms in the UK and overseas. Working closely with clients and subcontractors, you will prepare technical reports as well as commercial and technical proposals. You will also be required to:

  • Work with Project Engineers to deliver on tasks required
  • Take guidance from technical and operational leads whilst having the ability to work to project requirements
  • Complete failure investigations of electrical plant for owner/operator and loss adjusters
  • Developing a knowledge and understanding of RINA business processes in order to assist in the preparation of Commercial and Technical Proposals
  • Manage various projects
  • Assist with generation of new business
  • Present to clients and at conferences

Essential qualifications & experience

  • A degree (or higher)  in Electrical Engineering or in a relevant field
  • Experience working in an OEM, Operator or Engineering Consultancy Environment

As an exceptional communicator you will have excellent spoken and written English, and well-developed report writing and presentation skills with acute attention to detail. You will thrive on customer engagement and be skilled in understanding their needs and building lasting relationships.

You will have the ability to work autonomously and account for own time, to manage and work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising workload as necessary to progress each project. You will be proactive in seeking new work, supporting business development and technical leads.
