Role Overview

A superb opportunity has opened up within our Client's busy Application Management Team. They are seeking a talented Systems Analyst/Application Support Engineer, with strong Linux skills and client facing capabilities, to join a secure government environment and assist with various Web Services and products.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and problem resolution for complex applications within Linux operating systems
• Build out and implement new applications, products and version releases
• Work with Product Development teams to determine root cause of problems, and be the main point of contact for key client application
• Follow change control procedures and best practices for minimising risk to production.
• Perform proactive/preventative maintenance tasks

Essential Skills

• Strong Linux skills
• Apache & Tomcat configuration
• Coldfusion 10 & Adobe Coldfusion Builder - Demonstrable technical competence and experience in ColdFusion and related frameworks (ASP.Net) as well as OO design principles and patterns.
• Understanding of XML,HTML,CSS - Good working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and libraries like jQuery
• Strong JavaScript development skills
• mySQL/PHP - Good understanding of relational databases e.g. MySQL
• Developing for UNIX Apache server, PHP, MySQL.
• SQL/TSQL

Desirable

• Developer knowledge of SQL Server 200/2005 including SQL reporting services
• Oracle 11g /Oracle Dataguard
• Internet Information Server
• Windows Server Administration
