A strategic alliance has been formed between Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police in order to enable both forces to meet the challenge of reducing policing budgets. By working more closely together the forces will benefit from greater operational and organisational resilience, making us the fourth largest geographic police area in England and Wales.

The main purpose of the role is to provide a full range of administrative support to the force vetting unit. To deal with routine enquiries from individuals departments and National Companies.

Main Responsibilities:
To maintain the vetting database, receiving and inputting paper and web based vetting applications accurately and in a timely manner. 

To maintain a record of annual reviews, carry out PNC checks and deal accordingly ensuring they are recorded on Corevet database.

To carry out checks on NCIA database (where appropriate).

To scan and upload complete vetting files to the database and produce vetting ID cards.

To assist as directed in producing and despatching invoices to the National Companies. 

To prepare letters and reports as directed. 

To deal with routine vetting enquiries from HR, managers, police officers, staff and member of the public and External companies.

To prioritise own workload ensuring deadlines are achieved and high quality of service to the customer is maintained.

Ensuring confidentiality of information in respect of records maintained and tasks undertaken in accordance with the Data Protection Act and other relevant legislation.

To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.

Experience/Skills:  
5 A-C grade GCSE’s (or equivalent) including English language.

Experience of dealing with complex administrative processes.

Experience of retrieving statistical information.

Experience of working in very busy environment working to strict deadlines, managing a high and diverse workload.

Experience of working as part of a team in a customer service environment. 

Excellent IT skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook).

Excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to communicate with officers, staff and members of the public.

Ability to enter information accurately using appropriate IT systems. 

Ability to work methodically.

Ability to work to tight timescales.

Ability to present information clearly and concisely.

Ability to demonstrate and maintain the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality.
