This position is to implement suitable systems and processes to manage and mitigate current company business risks, to manage, mitigate and de-risk programme risk inherent in current and future programmes.
 
You will also deliver risk management activities in accordance with the company risk and opportunities process and procedures work as required up to MD & Senior Leadership Team Level. There will also be a requirement to maintain a joint UKMFTS risk register with the customer managing and assisting all parties in identifying, scoring, mitigating and ensuring accountable for all programme and strategic risks.

Key Responsibilities
 
Risk Management
  • Delivery of risk, opportunity and costed risk modelling process in line with Ascent Risk process and management plans
  • Ensuring the adequacy and effectiveness of the Risk management and processes
  • Lead the education, development and identification of risk owners and hold them accountable
  • Maintain an up to date  joint UKMFTS risk register,
  • Define options for the customer to derisk the programme
  • Escalate risks through the appropriate risk management procedures
  • Influence senior stakeholders across the parties to support the Risk Management process
  • Maintain an up to date Ascent Business risk register with appropriate Business Finance Partner/analyst
  • Ensure monthly/quarterly risk reviews which meet the Customer and Ascent SLT requirements through the provision of an effective Risk Management system
  • Promote Best Industry practises
     
Other
  • Influence and inform Senior Leadership Team in Strategic risk management by identifying, quantifying, and mitigating any risk that affects or is inherent in a company's business strategy and strategic objectives.
  • Lead the business risk function by defining strategic goals and operational risk plans
  • Liaising with Ascent Senior Leadership Team,  Managers and Functional leads
  • Setting of meeting agendas and facilitating of UKMFTS programme and Business risk meetings
  • Ensure the customer governance requirements are met through the provision of an effective Risk Management system
     
Partnering
  • Uphold partnering behaviours and participate in events as required

  • Uphold adherence to the Health, Safety & Environmental Polices and Air Safety responsibilities
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential:
  • Pragmatic approach to issues, process oriented
  • Experience of working with all levels of management and to challenge when necessary
  • Ability to design processes and manageable metrics
  • Ability to explain complex issues and present technical data clearly
  • Understanding of Good Industry practices
  • PC literate
  • Expert user of Risk Management Software including MOD Active risk Management system (ARM)
  • Good communication and facilitation skills
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Good People skills
  • Business Acumen, adaptable
 
Desirable:
  • Financial based Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Self-developing, initiative
  • Member of a recognised Risk Management bodies
