Our teams also lead investigations across the Serious and Organised Crime landscape and provide a national service of specialist investigative skills and expertise to support major crime investigations conducted by police forces, such as abduction, serial sexual crime and no body murder. 

The Serious Crime Analysis Section (SCAS) work to identify the potential emergence of serial killers and serial rapists at the earliest stage of their offending. This role is based within SCAS and will be Supporting the investigation of serious stranger sexual offences and murders by working with Senior Investigating Officers (SIOs) within a defined region by providing advice and guidance on the products and services available through SCAS, and how these can be utilised to support an investigation. 

The successful candidate will have extensive experience of analytical support to major crime investigations and a proven ability to quality assure, mentor and coach others in the behavioural analysis process. Candidates will also possess a knowledge of the complexities and strands of major crime investigation, including relevant legislation.

Person Specification 

You will be required to supply evidence of: 

  • Extensive experience of analytical support to major crime investigations
  • Proven ability to quality assure, mentor and coach others in the behavioural analysis process
  • Knowledge of the complexities and strands of major crime investigation, including relevant legislation
