Job Details

The Surveillance Officer operates as part of a cohesive operational team that are able to successfully deliver proactive operations by utilising the full spectrum of tools and techniques available to covert investigation specialists. This is a challenging role requiring a flexible approach to working long and varied hours, often at short notice and operation from locations within England & Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland. 

We are looking for an experienced Q1 or Q5 College of Policing Surveillance Operative with either PIP (Professionalising Investigation Programme) Investigations Skills or who hold a recognised alternative investigative qualification. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge around seizure of exhibits, continuity of evidence and sift.seize legislation, including experience in disclosure and scheduling of material and knowledge of CPIA legislation. Post holders are also required to be experienced and competent in completing case files and liaising with prosecuting agencies/authorities.

Experience Criteria 

You will be required to supply evidence of: 
 

  • Able to demonstrate experience and knowledge around seizure of exhibits, continuity of evidence and seize/ sift legislation including experience in disclosure and scheduling of material including knowledge of CPIA legislation.
  • Experienced and competent in completing case files and liaising with prosecuting agencies/authorities

Qualifications

Candidates must hold the following qualifications/accreditation: 

• Police Advanced Driver 
• Q1 or Q5 surveillance trained 
• PIP1 or a recognised qualification/accreditation to investigate crime issued by a Government body.
