Financial Accountant

Financial Accountant urgently required for our London based Central Government client on a 3 month initial contract + possible extensions.

You will be responsible for;

• Production of Statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with IFRS and other reporting and regulatory requirements.
• Act as the point of contact for our external auditors on any technical accounting matters and year end audit.
• Plan and organise the audit including production of timetable and instructions, communication of responsibilities and ensuring appropriate resources are in place.
• Manage reporting requirements including: consolidation packs for interim year end reporting, and draw down and repayments of loan amounts.
• Develop and update Accounting policies in the light of the development of the business.
• Lead operational finances month end process.
• Implementation of internal and external audit recommendation.

Skills/ Experience required;

• A fully qualified experience accountant (e.g. ICAEW, ACCA etc.)
• Strong technical proficiency in IFRS and Conceptual Framework- in particular in relation to Financial Instruments and revenue recognition.
• Ability to explain technical accounting concepts to a non-technical audience.
• Experience of auditing or producing full IFRS year-end accounts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience of analysing data from and ERP system.
• Understanding of public sector reporting would be an advantage.
