We are building this business through a strong portfolio of differentiated services leveraging a core relationship with governments and our ability to serve industry in the UK and overseas.

Our Cyber Security services can be split into three broad Business Areas: 

  1. Managed Security Services: We provide managed services and unique technology to detect malicious incidents and help organisations to respond appropriately before the incident gets out of control
  2. Consulting: We provide advisory services across the full range of Cyber Security capabilities including Cyber Security Strategy, Information Assurance, Cyber Security Improvements and Cyber Security Technology Advice.

What you will be doing…

BAE Systems is looking for a Senior Presales Engineer to be part of the Financial Services EMEA Presales team within BAE Systems AI, focusing on the Cyber Security offerings. You will be based in London but required to travel across the region to support client engagements on an ad hoc basis, often at short notice.

The team is currently expanding to support a rapidly growing business  as such there is a great opportunity to help define sector and technology focused offerings as well as to work with our product team to keep our services on the leading edge of the Cyber Security Market.

On a day to day basis your core responsibilities will be to:

  • Drive technical sales engagement through building relationships with client technical stakeholders, running technical workshops and webinars.
  • Develop and own Cyber services proposals and ensure that they meet the client requirements and fit our solution roadmap.
  • Work with product managers to define and refine roadmaps and sector focussed service sets.

What we are looking for…

The successful candidate will be a self-starting individual with the ability to drive growth in the Cyber Security arena. The performance and personal competencies required for the position include:

Consulting

You will have a strong consulting background, with a minimum of 5 years consultative selling experience

Communications

  • Ability to converse with senior client stakeholders on a business problem level as well as a technical level.
  • Ability to communicate with a range of internal stakeholders as both part of the bid process and product development to influence solutions, sales strategies and roadmaps to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Strong written and presentation skills essential.
  • Fluent in English; another European language would be advantageous

Domain Knowledge

  • Proven background in presales, solution architecture or technical consulting in Cyber / IT security domain.
  • Specific technical and business problem knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
  • Enterprise Cyber Risk Management
  • Security Strategy and Governance
  • Security Testing Services
  • Security Operations Services
  • Regulatory Compliance services (FCA, PRA, GDPR)
  • Security Framework (NIST, ISO27001, Cyber Essentials etc.)
  • Supply Chain Assurance
  • Security Architecture
  • Threat Intelligence and Incident Response Services

Certifications

Hold an industry recognised certification such as CISM, CRISC, CISSP or equivalent

Qualifications

MSc in Cyber Security or equivalent

Sector Experience

  • Experience in one or more of the following sectors:
  • Financial Services ( Banking and Insurance)
  • Telecommunications
  • Legal
  • Technology
  • Media
  • Energy

Setting Strategy

  • Proven ability to work in high performing teams to rapidly develop new technical solutions often with direct interaction with client stakeholders.
  • Experience of defining and iterating client value propositions and translating into technical proposals.
  • Keen awareness of the key technical sales levers and drivers within your sector.

Executing for Results

  • Track record of supporting successful deals through direct technical input, from requirements shaping to solution architecture.
  • Understanding of the enterprise sales process and cycle.

Building Relationships and Using Influence

  • Track record of building and sustaining technical client relationships.

Track record of working with large bid teams across multiple disciplines to develop winning strategies under pressure.
