Digital Developer

Our public sector client has an immediate requirement for an experienced Digital Developer who is accustomed to working in a multi-disciplinary agile team environment.

The post offers a 6 month contract (possibly longer) and requires a Ruby expert who can design, create and improve new and existing products, platforms and transactions across the organisation.

You must possess strong skills in front end or back end web development (or both) and be ready to quickly get to work within a multi-disciplinary team of developers, designers, editors, and analysts focussed on one or more products or projects. You will also be building up a useful, robust automated test suite to support a Continuous Deployment environment, as well as sharing knowledge of tools and techniques within the wider team.

Further requirements:

• Strong experience working with SQL databases (PostgeSQL)
• Knowledge of frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript) is also expected, however the key criteria is a Ruby expert.
• Awareness of NoSQL databases (eg. DynamoDB) and when and how to use them would be useful
• Knowledge of AWS
• Knowledge of: Linux/Java/Node/Docker/Kubernetes
• Strong testing experience

Suitable candidates must also be immediately available or on a notice period of no longer than a week.
