General Description of Role:
 
To provide accreditation assurance practices in support of NS apprenticeship programmes.
To deliver high quality assessment in line with Company standards and contractual requirements.
 
FOAP (T) operates within an era of severe budgetary pressure for the MoD; as such all employees are required to:
 
  • Continually improve the way they contribute to the business
  • Ensure that they are best equipped to support future change
  • Ensure that they work in an effective collaborative manner with MoD staff, displaying the appropriate behaviours at all times
 
 
Main Tasks:
 
  • To provide apprenticeship/award Programme training delivery and support services for the MWS output measurements.
  • Under the Supervisors authorisation, work closely with the RN and National Authorities/Agencies, to ensure a consistent and compliant apprenticeship and occupational awards delivery output.
  • Maintain apprenticeship/award documentation to meet RN and external Authority/Agency quality control and contract requirements.
  • As directed by the Manager/Supervisor, conduct apprenticeship/award quality control activities to ensure service outputs. (This may include travel and over night stay)
  • Seek Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives within the Business output areas. Maximise performance delivery, innovative new approaches to deliver savings. Feeding back to the Training Delivery Team Supervisor (MWS Frameworks/Standards).
  • Deliver Functional Skills as loading requires (This will be a development requirement dependant on SQEP qualifications held)
  • Maintain currency and SQEP in line with technical experience, and quality practices
  • To be responsible for the duty of care of trainees under your control.
  • Ensure Company health, safety and environmental procedures are implemented and complied with at all times for all employees and trainees under your direction
 
 
Technical Experience and Qualifications:
 
Essential:
 
  • Qualified to L3 or equivalent in an ICT/Communications competency or have 5 years proven Communications/ICT experience, as a NCO or above, within the Armed Services.
  • Management qualification L3 or equivalent or 5 years proven management experience as an NCO or above within the Armed Services.
  • Level 2 qualification in English and Maths
  • Assessor Award Qualification (A1/2 or equivalent)
  • ECDL or equivalent demonstrable proficiency in using IT (hardware/software) within the workplace
 
Desirable:
 
  • ILM Level 3 Award (Workplace Coaching)
  • IQA (Verifier) Award Qualification (V1 or equivalent)
  • Teaching Qualification Level 4 or equivalent

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Carries out any other appropriate task that may be required from time to time
  • Employees are responsible for their own Health and Safety and that of work colleagues and also trainees in their care
  • The nature of RN training requires a high degree of flexibility for all FOAP staff; there may be a requirement for travel between FOAP delivery sites within the UK
 
 
Location:
 
You will be supporting the delivery of professional training in the RN's principle training facility near Portsmouth.

Security Clearance:
