Job Details
*Technical/system engineering qualifications with minimum 3 years experience.
*Proven in-depth knowledge , on space support to military, operations key capabilities areas of space situational awareness, SATCOM, space based ISR, METOC and position navigation and timing.
*Experienced in exercise control (EXCON) related to space employment for NATO .
Duties Role:
This IWC is required to enable NCI Agency to support the Space Support in Operations Programme is the follow up of the 2017-2021 Action plan established by the Strategic Commands (SCs) on 17 FEB 2017 (IMSM 0080-2017). In particular, with the recent awareness provided to the NATO command structure, the action plan requires update of previous work, investigation of new areas of expertise and support in current activities to guarantee the provision of Space data, products and services to the NATO communities.
The Space Support activities in general focus on 4 lines of efforts:
• Alliance adaptation which aim is to guarantee consistency and coherence in the Space activity within the NATO current high level initiatives;
• Space Support which is to improve the exchange mechanisms between the Nations and the NATO Space Support Coordination entities;
•Education and training which is to improve education, individual and collective training and integration of Space Support into major NATO Joint exercises;
•Collaboration with all Space supporting organisations, entities and industry.
The IWC shall support NCIA and ACT in these 4 lines of effort, and in particular the output of the IWC will support the NCIA required delivery of the following products to ACT
1. A report providing an update to the Space inventory report
2. A report providing an update to the Space dependency report
3. Recommendations and support to the management of the Space tools
4. Support to the Space E&T activities
*Work will include Support to the NBiSCSWG meetings and to the Chair and co-chair of the group as required.
*Frequent travel to SHAPE will be required.
