Middleware Support Analyst - IBM MQ WebSphere, Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, Java, MS IIS

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading Aerospace & Defence Company who work on complex technical programmes. As well as utilising your expertise in Middleware support you will provide subject matter expertise for Issues, security related threats and vulnerabilities as it pertains to middleware.

Key responsibilities for the Middleware Support Analyst:

Perform administrative duties, including installation, configuration, patching, troubleshooting and tuning Middleware software across operating system environment that includes Linux and Windows operating systems.
Perform MQ WebSphere, Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, Java, MS IIS and application troubleshooting with Application Development staff or other administrators and assist with problem resolution.
Analyse system performance and makes recommendations for optimisation.
Ensure that the production environment is highly available per the needs of the business and established Service Level Agreements.
Document Root Cause Analysis for all High Severity issues and present the same to clients.
Participate in the upgrade/patching planning and execution of the Middleware software.
Work with multiple teams for successful resolution of issues and incidents.
Participation in establish and test disaster recovery policies and procedures across all Middleware environments.
Ensure adherence to applicable Change and Release Management processes.
Develop technical documentation and procedure on monitoring, performance, analysis for Middleware applications.
Involvement in wider Business Application support activities as required

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required for the Middleware Support Analyst:

Willingness to take on responsibility
Worked previously in a middleware support role
Team Player
Strong communications skills

Previous experience of the following would be of benefit;

Apache, PHP, Web Server, JBoss, MS IIS etc
IBM MQ installation and configuration
SQL and Oracle Database
Knowledge of basic UNIX commands
Basic Windows OS administrative tasks
Program language and / or scripting
