About the role

Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit am Assistant Project Manager to join our Defence Systems Technology business unit which is within the Marine Division. You'll be part of the Marine Systems Support Partner (MSSP) team who provide critical in-service support to the Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers and the Type 45 Destroyers for the Royal Navy.

MSSP covers the provision of equipment spares and repairs together with technical support and advice including defect rectification, design change and integrated logistics support activities. The team is Babcock led but incorporates representatives from across the naval industry and has strong links within the Ministry of Defence and waterfront teams.

Using your experience of project management and your knowledge of project fundamentals, you will work with the engineering teams and suppliers to specify and deliver packages of work for technical support. You will use ERP Systems to raise purchase requisitions, manage work package budgets, track and enable supply chain activities.

What do I need to do the role?

You'll need to have a project management qualification, either APMP/PMQ or Prince 2 and have experience of working within an engineering or defence environment.
You'll need to be able to deploy good communication and influencing skills as you'll work closely with the client and our internal and external stakeholders.

* We are based North Bristol.
* Permanent position with a competitive annual salary and excellent benefits.
* 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday with flexible hours.
* Overtime is available
