Naval Architecture Principal Engineer A major Defence company is looking to secure the services of a Naval Architecture Principal Engineer at their site in Barrow.

Naval Architecture Principal Engineer Responsibilities:
* Providing support to the definition and development of user, system and sub system requirements through to demonstration of acceptance
* Undertaking hull form design, optimisation and development whilst simultaneously incorporating hydrodynamic performance, appendage design and integration
* Conducting assessments of buoyancy and stability characteristics for concept and detailed design phases
* Managing the stability for boats and ships in water during commissioning phases
* Making predictions of manoeuvring and control performance through mathematical, computational and physical modelling methods
* Conducting manoeuvring assessments including; open ocean surfaced, periscope depth and deeply submerged, coastal waters, shallow water and restricted channels
* Providing technical support to launch and support sea trials

Naval Architecture Principal Engineer Requirements:
* Degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering or relevant engineering degree or equivalent
* Demonstrable experience in Design reports and calculations
* Demonstrable experience in working with key stakeholders and being customer focused

Desirable
* Knowledge of the submarine or surface ship industry
* Knowledge of stability analysis using packages such as Paramarine, Aviva or FORAN
* Demonstrable experience with CAD packages such as Rhino or AutoCAD
* Knowledge of hydrodynamic analysis, including CFD tools such as FLUENT or STARCCM
* Demonstrable experience of model testing and trials
