BI Developer/Data Analyst
Lakeside, Portsmouth

Here at Babcock we are looking for a Business Intelligence Developer to be responsible for data collection, validation, analysis and dashboard reporting to deliver both internal and external facing MI, primarily using Business Intelligence tools such as Qlikview/sense and Power BI.

You will be expected to work with the business to drive requirements and create and develop data models and applications.

You will deliver insight into business performance, key to driving improvement and meeting contractual deliverables.

Working as part of the Information Exploitation function, you will support across: data collection; data validation; data processing; data analysis; data modelling; and reporting. The Data Analyst will deliver a high quality decision support capability to the internal business and external customer, in line with company standards and contractual requirements.

What do I need to do the job?

You will need;

Experience in Business Intelligence (BI) applications and dashboard reporting - preferably QlikView/sense and/or Power BI

Experienced in creating and managing databases - Microsoft SQL and Oracle

Understanding of business processes and identifying improvements

Degree educated in Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science

Experience of Extracting, Transforming and Loading (ETL) complex big data

Scripting of ETL processes to automate extractions and transformations

Qlikview experience would be beneficial, but training can be provided.

Confident going out in an analytical position to the business and working with others who are unfamiliar with BI.

Desirable Skills
MS SSIS

Knowledge of Army Training and MOD systems
