What we are looking for

Canditates should be able to demonstrate achievements gained in either a private or public-sector organisation or consultancy and an understanding, experience and a real desire to develop their skills in one or more of the following consulting areas:

• Portfolio, Programme and Project Management (P3M)

• Using structured and/or agile methods

• Programme and Project delivery

• Project Management Offices and Project Controls (Cost, Schedule, Risk)

• Business Consulting

• Business Analysis

• Change Management

• Operational Improvement

• Procurement

• Stakeholder Engagement and Communications

• Strategy and Transformation.

We really want to hear from candidates who can demonstrate the core skills and personal traits that will help them develop into successful consultants, these include: 

• Strong communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate with a variety of colleagues and become a trusted client adviser up to Senior levels.

• An ability to build good and lasting relationships at all levels in a business environment

• Someone who can gain client trust and identify opportunities to add value

• An enquiring mind, someone who does not accept things at face value

• Complex problem solving and analytical skills, enabling innovative solutions and sound decisions and recommendations.

• Proactive approach with a can-do attitude

• Strong delivery focus and a good track record of successfully delivering solutions

• Confidence to work independently on own initiative or enjoy being part of multidisciplinary teams.

• Ambition, commercially aware and client focused with the drive to keep on learning.

• Someone who maintains a flexible attitude to working in a multi-disciplinary environment.

• Sound judgement, not afraid to ask questions or for seek support

• Is focussed on client outcomes and not put off by disappointment, having the ability to stand up to pressure from client stakeholders.

• UK mobile, whilst operating from a base office in either London or the South West.

Training

Atkins develops individuals through a portfolio of training and development activities designed to help you make the best of your abilities and talents.  These are reviewed with individuals through an annual appraisal process.  We actively support staff in achieving corporate membership of relevant institutions.

Please note that we will relocate from our current London office in Euston Tower to the Nova North building in Victoria in the first quarter of 2019.

Security Requirements

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary it will be discussed with you at interview.
