General Description of Role:
 
To provide a subject matter expertise (SME) in delivery of Functional skills in English, Maths and ICT, for learners progressing on  Apprenticeship Programmes (AP) for the Naval Service, in line with Company Standards, contractual requirements and Awarding Organisational regulatory requirements.
 
FOAP(T) operates within an environment of contractual requirements and as such all employers are required to:
  • Continually improve the way they contribute to the business
  • Ensure that they are best equipped to support future change
  • Ensure that they work in an effective collaborative manner with MoD staff, displaying the appropriate behaviours at all times
  • Maintain an understanding of company policies and procedures
 
 
Main Tasks:
 
  • To deliver English, Maths and ICT tuition for Functional Skills programmes in support of the RN Apprenticeship Contract.
  • Monitor, identify and produce appropriate training documentation to uphold the centres quality assurance standards.
  • Maintain currency and SQEP in line with teaching and technical experience and external body requirements
  • To be responsible for the Duty of Care of trainees under your control.
  • Ensure Company health, safety and environmental procedures are implemented and complied with  at all times for all under your direction and within your work place environment.
  • To develop skills to enable the delivery of a high quality training and assessment in line with Company  standards and contractual requirements.
  • To develop coaching and mentoring skills to support learners on programme.
  • To maintain teaching CPD to support SQEP requirements of the post.
  • Support the daytime cover on main reception desk as and when required and support rota for the evening shift when FS Facilitator is on annual leave or are absent from the workplace.
 
 
Technical Experience and Qualifications:
 
Essential:
 
  • Level 2 Key Skills/Functional Skills in Maths/English or an equivalent or above.
  • ECDL or equivalent demonstrable proficiency in using IT applications
  • Level 4 teaching certificate or equivalent.
 
Desirable:
 
  • Assessor Award Qualification (TAQA),D32/D33, A1/2 or equivalent.
  • Customer Service Level 3 NVQ or equivalent.
  • Care of the trainee
  • DBS/CRB cleared
  • English Level 3 Qualification
  • Maths Level 3 Qualification
 
Some experiences/qualifications listed above as desirable and marked by an Astrix *, will be required to obtain/hold to meet full requirements to conduct the post role.  Any shortfalls within these areas will be supported by the company to obtain/hold, against a development plan.

Location:
 
You will be supporting the delivery of professional training in the RN's principle training facility near Portsmouth.

Security Clearance:
