GIS Consultant/Specialist

Location - Belfast

Duration - 6 months initially

EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY: Sopra Steria is currently recruiting for a GIS Consultant to join a new team, working on a large-scale programme of work with one of our clients at Belfast, Northern Ireland

JOB RESONSIBILITIES:

1. Personal expertise in 'specialist area' (functional domain, IT Technology, set of business processes, IT Management or Change Management)
2. To deliver work to agreed estimates and timescales.
3. To produce software component designs and specifications and to produce and test software components of any size and complexity.
4. Develop an awareness within 'specialist area' through internal and external networking
5. Develops personal network of contacts with customers and within Sopra Steria to contribute to high levels of chargeable personal utilisation
6. Seeks to promote Sopra Steria consulting, application management, business process and IT outsourcing services
7. Supports the research and shaping of generic business propositions within 'specialist area'
8. Contributes to the shaping of overall solution(s) with key internal and external stakeholders
9. Contributes to the definition of scope and deliverables for assignment with 'client' (may be internal or external)
10. Delivers assignments in accordance with agreed scope, time, financial and quality measures
11. Contributes to effective client engagement and stakeholder management during assignment in order to mitigate risk and manage expectations
12. Completes assignment review with 'client' at the end of each and every assignment (or six monthly for long term assignments)
13. Shares personal knowledge of 'specialist area' through participating in education activities.
14. In some cases supports the client organisation as single consultant to deliver high levels of expertise.
15. To support a body of knowledge in the application of technology to addressing business issues.

In addition the specific GIS skills and contract specific skills should ideally include:

• Proven experience in Esri's ArcGIS product suite, including ArcGIS Pro / Desktop, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Mobile Apps and/or ArcGIS Online and web technologies
• Experience of enterprise GIS solution design and deployment and applying Geographical Information Systems to provide business solutions
• Experience of scripting or developer environments such as JavaScript, REST and Python, or web design experience such as HTML, CSS etc. is desirable
• Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Server, IIS, Geocortex and FME
• A Master's degree in a relevant GIS discipline
• Experience developing in an esri environment, specifically ArcGIS Server/ArcGIS Enterprise
• Experience of data management including spatial data ETL operations.
• Capability to manage multiple priorities with demonstrable experience through business processes and collaboration tools, i.e. Slack, Jira, TFS, AGILE, Kanban
