Job Purpose
This role is an exciting new opportunity to shape and influence the future of the NATS engineering services. The Process Expert will be part of the Service Management Back Office (SMBO) function within Service Operations. They will, initially, be providing process design guidance to ensure that new processes being delivered within NATS engineering service are fit for purpose and efficient.
As the role evolves the job holder will take on the responsibilities of Business Process Expert for a number of the business processes within NATS Technical Services - with specific responsibility for ensuring that they are efficient, effective, simple and standardised across the business.
Areas of responsibility are:

  • Process Management and Expertise for allocated processes.
  • Responsible for the compliance monitoring of the allocated processes and will provide advice at all levels within Technical Services to ensure an effective and efficient operation.
  • Ensuring the allocated processes are efficient, effective, simple and standardised.
  • Ensuring the Continuous Service Improvement (CSI) activities are logged, prioritised and actioned.
  • Accountable for ensuring that effective and efficient training for business process users is delivered.
  • Responsible for ensuring that effective and efficient processes are accurately reflected in the Service Management (SM) tooling.
  • Working with diverse stakeholders and primary users to ensure: consistency of process application; development of management information; effective problem management; knowledge management policies are effected; and development of tools and reporting is in line with the business need.
  • The job holder will have a strong ITIL foundation that they will use to support the design and delivery of NATS Operational IT Services.In addition to this activity the post holder will be developing the metrics and reporting criteria with the stakeholders across NATS. This job will be operating at SFIA Level 5.

    Qualifications and Skills

    Honours degree in an Engineering, Business Management or Information Technology related discipline, and/or relevant experience. Applicants who do not hold the relevant qualification but have undertaken structured training and have extensive relevant experience will be considered.The candidate will hold relevant ITIL Practitioner or Certification appropriate to the role. For example: Intermediate level CSI Module; Service Transition Module; Service Operation; Operational Support and Analysis;This job will be operating at SFIA Level 5.
    UK Air Traffic Management is a safety critical environment, and part of Critical National Infrastructure, so you will be required to pass and hold SC level UK Security Clearance.
