Part time 18.5 hours
A strategic alliance has been formed between Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police in order to enable both forces to meet the challenge of reducing policing budgets. By working more closely together the forces will benefit from greater operational and organisational resilience, making us the fourth largest geographic police area in England and Wales.
The main purpose of the role is toprovide a high quality service to internal and external customers in line with force service standards. To make initial contact from members of the public and deal appropriately. To record incidents and crime reports and updates on to the Force systems from police officers and police staff
Main Responsibilities:
To deal with enquiries from members of the public face to face, by phone, e-mail, fax etc. and deal with them appropriately and in a professional and efficient manner according to Force Policy
Provide advice, guidance and assistance to members of the public and other visitors attending the counters, acting as first point of contact and dealing appropriately
To apply the NSIR when recording incidents and Home Office Counting Rules (HOCR) when recording crime reports.
To mentor and support other members of the team as required
Accurately update, retrieve and interrogate all Force IT systems
To record incidents and crime reports to meet the ‘Right First Time’ ethos
To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required
Experience/Skills:
5 GCSE’s including English Language A-C grade or equivalent
Experience in working as part of a team in a customer service environment
Proven ability to communicate both orally and in written form with a wide range of people.
Proven ability to gather and collate information and create and maintain accurate records
Ability to accurately input and maintain data.
Competent in the use of IT, including Microsoft packages
Special Conditions
Shift working including unsociable hours, weekends and public holidays
Wearing of Uniform.
