Cyber Project Manager

The Candidate

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in delivering Cyber capabilities. You will have exceptional stakeholder management skills and be used to working within geographically disparate teams. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience of working on projects for NATO, the MoD, civil service or wider armed forces.

The role

Role responsibilities;

  • management of NSIP projects and, in particular, the implementation of major procurement projects in the area of Cyber Security;
  • management procurement processes, including insourcing and outsourcing agreements, in order to ensure projects are delivered within agreed scope, time, cost and quality limits;
  • Development of project proposals, technology evaluations and other project activities requiring subject matter expertise;
  • Support reporting and communications with the Cybersecurity Service Line and NCIA’s top management, in order to ensure projects are monitored and controlled across all management levels;
  • Using the MS-EPM (Microsoft Enterprise Project Management) framework used by NCIA, develop and maintain agreed project plans and detailed stage plans in compliance with the NCIA’s directives and project management best practices;
  • Monitor and control project progress to ensure resources are consumed in accordance with the approved budget and within the approved timelines;
  • Identify, plan, request and manage the deployment of resources to meet project milestones and initiate corrective actions when necessary.

The opportunity 

This high-profile role represents a great opportunity for a seasoned cyber project management professional to work on prestigious and critical NATO programmes. As an integral member of the MCR team, you will provide expertise and direction on Cyber Security. The location of this role will be in Mons, Belgium with travel as required.

Minimum Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Engineering / IT, Management, or related discipline. Exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by a lower academic qualification combined with the demonstration of particular abilities or experience of relevance to this post.
  • A formal project management qualification such as PRINCE 2 or PMI PMP.
  • Extensive experience in the management of large Cybersecurity or ICT projects.
  • Proactive attitude in seeking and maintaining trust from stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with good briefing skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; the work is conducted in the English language;
  • Ability to obtain NATO Security Clearance;
  • Citizen of NATO;
  • Must be able to travel independently to NATO locations;
  • Must be able to reside and work within the host country without assistance.
