Title: IT Tooling Architect
Length: 3 months (Initially)
Primary Locations: Hemel Hempstead and Warrington
EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY: Sopra Steria Recruitment is looking for an experienced IT tooling Architect to architect and support the delivery a set of integrated standardized operational and service management tooling .
This individual will have hands on experience of architected IT tooling solutions and have overseen their delivery from conception through to BAU operations.
Key responsibilities:
- Operational and Service Management tools architecture and design
- Design best practices around the management, support and monitoring of the IT Tooling and Automation and its technology elements/components
- Work with cross functional teams to implement Tooling and Automation solutions
- Be cognisant of solution of integration on a 'plug and play' basis
- Gather requirements and design Tooling and Automation solution to meet business needs, best practice and integration
- Conduct Technology POC
- Business requirements gathering
- Good understanding of existing Cloud services
Technical Skills
- PRTG
- HP/Microfocus Monitoring Tool Sets
- Microfocus uCMDB
- Scripting
Desirable Skills:
- IBM Q Radar
- Logrythym protective monitoring
- Savision
Role attributes :
- A senior and experienced Infrastructure tooling Architect with excellent communication skills (written and verbal) who is able to manage and control multiple streams within Clients
- Able to operate both autonomously and in conjunction with direct management to support the installed estate and on new client requirements.
- Has an open style and is able to establish and conduct relationships with multiple peers, as well as clients, both locally and in the global organisation and third party service providers
- Architectural/technical knowledge of Datacentre (Physical and Mechanical & Engineering), Servers, Operating Systems ( UNIX & Wintel), Database Administration (Oracle & MS SQL), Storage (SAN & NAS), Networks (Data & Voice), IT Security (Powerbroker, NIPS, IPS, DDOS)
- Desktop (Standard, VDI, Citrix, Printing)
- Must have good knowledge in the following areas:
- Service Management tools
- Monitoring tools
- Servers technology IBM P-Series and X86 (Cluster and High Availability)
- Virtualisation and storage technology
- Disaster Recovery requirement
- LAN/WAN technology
- Unified Communication (Lync Voice, Data and Video)
- End User Platform
- Data Centre infrastructure
