The Candidate

We are seeking a highly personable and technically astute Knowledge Manager. With a service delivery background, the ideal candidate for this role will have recent experience providing support to a wide range of stakeholders within, NATO, the MoD, civil service, the wider armed forces or a defence organisation.

The role

Role responsibilities: 

  • development of departmental and cross-departmental systems and processes to ensure an effective and integrated approach to identifying, capturing, evaluating, retrieving and sharing information assets;
  • knowledge management processes, building Knowledge Management (KM) capacity through training and transfer of knowledge and skills;
  • Streamlining work processes to support the use of current KM tools;
  • Identifies, assessment and recommendation opportunities to further best practices;
  • recommends ways to create, share and utilise knowledge within an organisation to contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing;
  • reviews and evaluates policies, procedures and related roles and makes recommendations to support the sustainability and continuity of organisational KM;
  • proposes and coordinates communication and training programs designed to enhance awareness of an organisation’s KM systems;
  • designs, plans and implements KM-related initiatives;
  • applies information technology to the implementation of KM and knowledge sharing strategies.

The opportunity 

Feeding into a wider Knowledge Management function across NCIA, the successful applicant for this role will work as part of the Service Management and Control (SMC) Service Line at the Agency. Specifically, this role includes providing advice to identify, develop and implement effective knowledge management policies and practices. This role is to be based in Mons so would suit those either already living there or willing and able to work within that location unencumbered.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical training in a related discipline. Exceptionally, this may be offset by significant, unique experience in the field of Knowledge Management or Service Delivery;
  • good knowledge of NCIA and the service operation and management processes;
  • experience in organisational/leadership development, management, coaching and training;
  • in-depth knowledge of techniques and methods for mapping/measuring/analyzing business processes;
  • Experience in MS SharePoint site development;
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications;
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills;
  • Must be fluent in the English language (reading, writing, listening and speaking);
  • Ability to obtain national Secret or NATO Secret Security Clearance;
  • Must be a citizen of one of the 29 member NATO nations.
  • Must be eligible to live and work in the Belgium without assistance.

 

 

Non-essential requirements

  •  ITIL certification is highly preferred.
