Personnel & Asset Security Manager

My client, a world leader in the defence sector, requires an experienced and motivated Personnel & Asset Security Manager to join them in Stevenage and manage the security of company personnel and assets.

The jobholder will manage a small team across the UK who are responsible for personnel security clearances (vetting), the control and management of information and assets and international clearances to travel, identifying and mitigating the risk of those with privileged access.

The Personnel & Asset Security Manager will be responsible for the delivery of robust Personnel Security controls as directed by the Security Policy Framework and MoD guidelines, continuing to develop our client's insider threat programme, identifying and introducing business improvements to continually improve resilience. You will manage complex vetting aftercare cases in conjunction with Human Resources and UK Security Vetting and will act as Investigations Officer for internal security breaches, producing highly detailed evidence in report format.

You will be:
*Responsible for document control; the appropriate registration, movement and destruction of sensitive information relating to the development of a portfolio of complex weapon systems.
*Ensuring international travellers have the correct MoD clearances to travel in accordance with MoD contractual obligations (IVCO)
*Develop and maintain collaborative working partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders, including UKSV, MOD, Defence organisations etc.
*Prepare and deliver briefings to a range of audiences on security issues and initiatives to raise awareness and gain stakeholder support.

To be considered for this role, applicants will need to be an experienced Personnel Security Manager with excellent knowledge of vetting procedures, understanding the threats of insider activity. You will have experience of UK security and MoD regulations and practices in the defence sector and will be a highly motivated team player with the desire for personal development/growth. You will possess strong and articulate written and oral communication skills, able to present security information in a confident and engaging manner. You will have good interpersonal skills, able to develop positive professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
