About the role
The role of a NDT Engineer is a Nuclear Implicated Post and all applicants must be willing to become classified radiation workers. There will be a need to gain nationally recognised PCN qualifications in various NDT disciplines at an approved external test centre and there may be a requirement for off-site working.

You must be prepared to work permanent shift work including weekends on a shift roster, and possess a flexible approach to working patterns.

The role is to carry out all forms of NDT to a given specification and censor the results to the applicable acceptance standards. You will also be expected to carry out Team Leader duties supervising a mixed team of Babcock and contract staff engaged in carrying out radiographic examinations.

What do I need to do the role?
You will have a good knowledge of platform pipe systems and structures, and the materials from which they are constructed and knowledge of NDT processes and their application with a good level of computer literacy would be an advantage.

You will have a pro-active approach to problem solving and must be able to work in either a team environment or by using your own initiative.

You must hold a Craft/Technical apprenticeship and have experience within Ship/Submarine fabrication or refit experience in an engineering discipline, or previous experience in NDT, preferably in an engineering field.

ONC (Constructive/Mechanical based) in an engineering discipline or multi-disciplined PCN level 2 qualifications is desirable.
