An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Manager (Cyber Security) within Airbus Cyber Security in Newport, South Wales.

The Technical Manager (Cyber Security) is accountable for leading the engineering team on a project, and ensuring that the specified architecture is implemented in a timely, cost efficient manner that will meet the needs of the schedule.

They are responsible for defining the strategy for engineering delivery and the leadership, ensuring that the specialist engineering teams are brought together effectively to deliver the engineering content of the project. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

??? Typically responsible for engineering deliveries between MG4 and MG10 gates

??? Defines the scope of work for specific work-packages, including resource needs defined in terms of skills and quantities

??? Responsible for the technical assurance of the development, both in terms of ensuring that the development is compliant to the requirements and architecture as set out by the System Architect and that it is carried out in accordance with the processes and procedures as agreed with the Chief Engineer.

??? The Technical Manager is responsible for ensuring that disparate specialist engineering functions are directed and co-ordinated to efficiently deliver work packages as required, including managing engineering dependencies, risks and issues.

Your challenges will be to:

??? Lead a multi-disciplined team through design, development, integration and qualification of complex technical solutions whilst ensuring development benefits for other system elements (component reuse)

??? Use political and influencing skills to reach agreement on system matters with customers, the engineering team and other internal departments

??? Be an individual contributor, planning own work but co-ordinating other functional areas to achieve project goals

??? Be aware of legislative and government policies affecting the development of products for UK and export

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company???s success, reputation and sustainable growth.

- Must have experience of embedded software development utilising bespoke hardware.

- Experience and knowledge of CS3 is peferable

- Must be familiar with process driven software development

- Must have experience of the full project lifecycle.

- Must be highly self-motivated, articulate, with good verbal and written communications skills

- Must have an excellent understanding of work package definition, estimation and planning

- Must have excellent team leadership skills, with evidence of skills in negotiation and conflict resolution

- Negotiation level English is required

Must have existing UK SC security clearance, or be capable of attaining UK SC clearance

This role is based at Airbus Defence and Space offices, Newport, South Wales, with occasional requirements for business travel within the UK and abroad
