Network Security Engineer - Birmingham

Network Security Engineer with strong technical networking skills in Cisco (CCNA or CCNP qualified), network security, network router and switching is required by a leading Networking security firm based in Birmingham.

This role offers the change to work from home, as it is client facing so you will be at client meetings 3 times a week, so excellent flexible working opportunity

Essential Skills

• CCNA/CCNP in security or another vendor equivalent certification
• 3 years' experience in Cisco ASA/Check Point/f5/Palo Alto/Fortinet
• Network routing and switching
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Excellent technical understanding of designing and deploying wired and wireless network solutions
• Experience in technical consulting
• Experience in a client-facing environment
• Ability to prioritise multiple projects and work under pressure
• Willingness to travel
• Self-motivated
• Able to use own initiative

Position

The role of Network Security Engineer is a permanent role primarily home based so base location is flexible with customer meetings 2-3 times per week and weekly team meetings held in Birmingham. Due to expansion, the role is a dynamic customer facing role offering support in CISCO, Check Point, Palo Alto and F5 security products. Understanding security across multiple domains and a passion for security is essential to the role. Along with experience a qualification in CCNA or CCNP would demonstrate this. Experience in creating technical documentation such as high and low level designs is a must and the ability to communicate at all levels Stakeholders to Engineers is also required.
