AWS Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - DV Clearance

LOCATION: Gloucestershire

DURATION: 12 Months Contract - option to extend based on personal performance

DAILY RATE: Highly Competitive - dependent on candidate's level of experience

CONDITIONS: DV Clearance is required to fulfil this post

The Role

Capita TRACS are actively looking to hire a highly skilled AWS Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join a cutting edge team and be responsible for the delivery of a critical IT infrastructure as part of the organisational shift with the company. The role involves the modernisation of a proof of concept design and enhancing it with a new AWS features.

You will be responsible for implementing features, usability testing, and writing documentation for new features to AWS based infrastructure but what is key to ensure that while progress is made the local team is kept upskilled and knowledge transfer takes place in parallel.

You would also be expected to keep up to date with cutting edge skills, the future roadmap of AWS to enable the product to be kept up to date and importantly to drive out as much benefit as possible. It is critical to the organisation that users have access to the latest technology, applications, updates and beyond.

Skills & Experience

The candidates would ideally have skills and experience in the following:

  • Experience with AWS Code, Commit, CodeDeploy
  • Good knowledge of Linux, Unix based systems
  • Good knowledge of Linux based network routing and software based VPNS (ideally StrongSwan)
  • Good knowledge of Agile development practices and the software development lifecycle
  • Good understanding of version control software, specifically Git
  • Infrastructure / DevOps experience
  • Support roll out of new applications, and where appropriate create support and procedural documentation
  • Be able to test and evaluate new technology, where appropriate
  • Be able to troubleshoot issues, diagnosing and solving hardware or software issues for MAC and PC
  • Establish a good working relationship with customers & other support teams
  • Be enthusiastic and willing to learn
