A strategic alliance has been formed between Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police in order to enable both forces to meet the challenge of reducing policing budgets. By working more closely together the forces will benefit from greater operational and organisational resilience, making us the fourth largest geographic police area in England and Wales.
The main purpose of the role is to process electronic intelligence report submissions and update relevant police systems, in consultation with Intelligence colleagues.
To provide support to Intelligence Processing Unit by undertaking administrative functions.
Main Responsibilities:
To link and disseminate low risk intelligence reports, and where appropriate conduct relevant research as defined by national guidance and locally agreed protocols in an accurate and timely manner.
To action the evaluation notifications from the IPU low risk priority assessments.
To weed low risk intelligence reports to ensure Intelligence Processing supports the organisational strategy of relevant, accurate and timely intelligence.
To support the Intelligence Processing Unit with administrative function as and when required.
To submit low risk Crimestopper logs as directed.
To assist in collating statistical information concerning Crimestoppers to enable accurate feedback.
To work as part of a team to ensure tasks within Intelligence Processing Unit are prioritised and covered as required.
To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.
Experience/Skills:
Educated to ‘GCSE’ level (or equivalent) specifically in Maths and English
Experience of researching data
Previous experience within a police intelligence environment with use of intelligence systems
Previous experience working within an environment with high volume work with repetition
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good administration skills and an eye for detail
Ability to assess information
Competent use of IT, particularly using Windows based packages, advanced Excel and databases
