About the role

Here at Cavendish Nuclear we're looking for Electrical Controls & Instrumentation (EC&I) Designers to join us in our Leicester Office. From here we serve customers to deliver a range of projects across the lifecycle of nuclear energy.

As one of our EC&I Designers you'll provide design solutions primarily for Reactor Protection Systems and produce a range of documentation. This will include things such as circuit data capture, design schemes and proposal drawings, detail and fabrication drawings, general assemblies and bills of materials. You'll bring your significant design experience to support at design reviews and risk assessments, and ensure that everything is delivered to programme, budget and quality standards.

As well as working on some of the most high-profile nuclear projects in the UK and overseas we also offer a supportive work environment that places innovation at the heart of what we do.

What do I need to do the job?

You'll need as a minimum to hold an HNC or HND and have good knowledge of design, including:

• AutoCAD
• Fabrication techniques to support electrical design
• Achievable manufacturing accuracy
• Geometric tolerancing
• Commonly used components, materials and standards

It would also be advantageous to have working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical, PCB design, and Autodesk Inventor and Vault - although these are not essential to the role in the first instance.

What else do I need to know?

• The base location for this role will be Radar Road, Leicester
• You'll need to be able to travel to visit and work at customer sites and locations
• If successful in your application, you must be able to achieve the appropriate level of security clearance
