Role Summary/Purpose:
    The Senior Systems Engineer-Avionics Systems (Safety) will be responsible for conducting the safety assessment of avionics systems for AVIAGE SYSTEMS. It is expected that this Engineer will provide training to the Systems Engineers on safety design process and methods. In addition, this Engineer will support the system architecture and design work of Avionics Systems for AVIAGE SYSTEMS.
Essential Responsibilities:
    The Senior Systems Engineer-Avionics Systems (Safety) position serves as the systems safety domain expert for AVIAGE SYSTEMS , requires extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of safety activities starting at the avionics system level with experience at the aircraft level being desirable. This role must be capable of allocating safety requirements, conducting applicable analysis and assessments, and performing requirements validation and verification at the system and subsystem levels as it relates to safety function.This is a GME position to be based in Shanghai, ChinaAdditionally, as the Senior Systems Engineer-Avionics Systems (Safety),Responsibilities will include:
  • Conduct safety analysis and assessments at the system and subsystem levels
  • Generate safety requirements and allocate to the system and subsystem levels
  • Provide training to the systems engineers on safety design process and methods
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned safety projects adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements, manage corresponding project schedule and costs
  • Coordinate with suppliers to define their safety programs and oversee their efforts
  • Document safety related technical data of assigned projects, conforming engineering policies and procedures
  • Provide timely communications on significant safety issues or developments
  • Integrate processes across functional areas to improve coordination and maximize efficiency

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering / Sciences, Mathematics, or other related Engineering and Science fields from an accredited university or college, or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Proven experience in safety design and analysis of complex electronic products and/or avionics systems ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):

Desired Characteristics:
  • Established expertise in safety analysis and assessment, safety requirements development and resource allocation, proven hands-on experience in SSPP, FHA, PSSA, SSA, etc.
  • Extensive background in Aerospace electronics / avionics engineering and development and qualification including DO-178B, DO-254, and DO-160G standards
  • Proficiency in ARP4761, ARP4754A, and DO-297 objectives and compliance
  • Proficiency with Relex or other commonly used industry safety software tools
  • Safety engineering experience through full development life cycles of aviation products
  • Demonstrated experience in end-to-end safety assessment at IMA system level or aircraft level
  • Familiarity with the IMA, Displays Systems, Flight Management System, Onboard Maintenance System, Flight Recording System, Airport Service Map System is a plus
  • Previous experience in MMEL, CCMR, CMA are extra assets
  • Knowledge in network security and DO-326, security risk assessment experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with system / software / hardware design, verification and validation processes
  • Strong technical aptitude, including engineering tools and systems
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, ability of guiding and influencing others
