Role Summary/Purpose:
    The Sr Systems Engineer - Cockpit Display System will:
  • Be responsible for technically leading the Cockpit Display System (CDS) pursuit as directed by the Display System pursuit leader, and supporting the ongoing program of which AVIAGE supplies the CDS
  • Be a domain expert in the Cockpit Display System solutions, leading the solution definition for Display applications and platform development processes
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Must have extensive in-depth knowledge of Display System activities, with experience at the aircraft level and/or other avionics systems
  • This is a GME assignment located in Shanghai, ChinaAdditionally, as the Sr Systems Engineer - Cockpit Display System, your responsibilities will include:
  • Lead the solution definition of cockpit display system for a new Part 25 civil program pursuit
  • Provide supplier oversight and technical issues resolution with existing CDS program
  • Lead the planning and execution for internal display related R&D projects
  • Support the solution definition of the next generation display platform
  • Lead the establishment of sound system requirements capture and development processes
  • Conduct architecture activities and trade studies at appropriate system levels
  • Provide training to engineers on system design process, methods and concepts
  • Interface with customers to support pursuit activities and act as a technical domain expert on Display platform eco-system
  • Document related technical data of assigned projects in conformance with engineering policies and procedures
  • Integrate processes across functional areas to improve coordination and maximize efficiency
  • Execute design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements, manage corresponding project schedules and costs
  • Please Note: Work Location listed is Grand Rapids, MI. However, this position may also be eligible at our Cheltenham, UK location. This will be for a GME assignment to be based in Shanghai, China
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering / Sciences, Mathematics, or other related Engineering and Science fields from an accredited university or college, or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Proven experience on developing avionics systems (Including Proven Experience of cockpit display system; Strong Cockpit Display System domain knowledge and regulatory / standards awareness; Strong experience with platforms composed of ARINC 664 Data Network, ARINC 429, ARINC 661, ARINC 825, Data Conversion and various system interfaces) ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):

Desired Characteristics:
  • Extensive background in Aerospace electronics / avionics engineering and development and qualification including DO-297, DO-178, DO-254, and DO-160 standards
  • Proficient Cockpit Display System product knowledge such as integrated multi-function display, HUD, EVS, SVS etc.
  • Extensive knowledge with display system level requirements definition, requirements allocation, requirements management, systems integration, verification and certification
  • Knowledge of various aircraft or avionics systems, including safety critical and/or utility system within a FAR Part 25 aircraft
  • Proficiency in ARP4754A, DO-254 and DO-178 standards and compliance
  • Knowledge of aircraft environmental standards such as DO-160
  • Knowledge of safety analysis and assessment methods and constraints at the system and aircraft level
  • Ability to engage and build positive relationships with both customers and internal and external employees
  • Strong technical aptitude, including engineering tools and systems
  • Knowledge of modeling and simulation tools such as SCADE
  • Human Factors Experience is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, ability of guiding and influencing others
  • Results driven, ability of working under pressure
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, global environment
  • Proven record of successful project execution
