Role Summary/Purpose:
    The Aircraft Operations Expert / Engineer will be the solutions architect, developing integrated systems that are differentiated from current generation products, that delivers significant operational value to our customers. Reporting to the Engineering Systems Leader, you will be responsible for driving technical solutions that meet project cost & schedule objectives. You will spearhead new business initiatives related to Systems scope & lead capability building initiatives within Engineering
Essential Responsibilities:
    This is a GME assignment to be based in Shanghai, China Additionally, as the Aircraft Operations Expert / Engineer, Key responsibilities will include:
  • Serve as architect for avionics systems integrated solutions
  • Interface with customers, partners and suppliers for co-develop solutions that meet customer needs and internal business objectives
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of technical and business aspects of aircraft flight and ground operations
  • Demonstrate problem solving ability through deep industry experience
  • Utilize ability to develop priorities and execute plans for self and others
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of purpose, role, and interdependence of functions
  • Provide leadership and technical direction for a multidiscipline engineering team across multiple projects
  • Ensure delivery of best-in-class technical solutions, on-time and within budget across multiple projects
  • Responsible for technical oversite of 3rd party product development
  • Participate or provides input to the Joint Change Control Board
  • Champion efficiency improvement initiatives and develop best in-class processes
  • Utilize strong oral and written communication skills
  • Utilize strong interpersonal skills
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Develop and deliver executive level presentation internal and external to the organization.
  • Demonstrate business acumen and partner with Product & Program managers to develop company strategies
  • Lead technical contribution to new business initiatives
  • Develop overall technical capability of the Engineering teams
  • Please Note: Work Location listed is Grand Rapids, MI. However, this position may also be eligible at our Cheltenham, UK location. This will be for a GME assignment to be based in Shanghai, China
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited university or college, or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Proven experience in aviation with strong understanding of aircraft flight and ground operations
  • Proven experience in the Avionics Systems or related area ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):
