Reed Professional Services (RPS) is a Management Consultancy, technology services and outsourcing company specialising in Business, IT, financial services and associated sectors. We specialise in partnership solutions, people skills and providing stability giving our clients powerful solutions and a focused approach.

We are currently engaged with a Central Government Department, for whom we are delivering a number of vital work packages as part of an incredibly high-profile and complex Business Change / Transformation Programme. This programme is centred around the UK exiting the EU in spring 2019. The project will deliver a robust capability to respond to emergencies relating to the business areas of the client and arising from leaving the EU. The requirement will be realised by the establishment of an EU Exit Emergency Centre (EUXE). The EUXE will operate on a shift basis and emergency coverage (though not presence in the EUXE) will operate 24/7.

The EU Exit Emergencies (EUXE) Centre is planned to be stood up in March 2019 as a team consisting Civil Servants from across the client groups and beyond and external contractors. Each position within the team has a vital and unique role in ensuring that the EUXE Centre fulfils its remit with the team looking to consist of around 40 associates.

In order to support this, the need has been identified for experienced Service Managers, who have a demonstrable track record in high profile, business focussed projects to join and work alongside our existing teams. This is not a digital transformation programme but a business transformation, of which previous experience is essential.

 Role Profile

These roles will initially be for a 6-month engagement, paying up to £500.00 per working day. The Service Manager’s primary responsibility is to manage the ongoing service delivery for our central government client. In order to resource the EUXE Centre between the service hours of: 07:00-22:00 7 days per week (incl public holidays), the service will be provided from a pool of resources retained on contract to give contingency, ability to flex for elevated emergency levels, and to cover resource churn/issue.

Essential:

  • 5+ Years’ Service Management Experience, ideally in a similar response / emergency centre environment.
  • Ideally have experience in a similar, Central Government environment.
  • Extensive reporting experience – i.e. RAID logs.
  • Experience managing 3rd party suppliers.
  • Exceptional written & verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work under variable or low levels of supervision.
  • The ability to work under pressure in an area of high public and media interest.

Highly desirable:

  • Prior experience working for a consultancy.
  • SC Clearance would be Ideal
