Location: Cheltenham

Rate: £450-500 per day (outside IR35)

Clearance: DV

Duration: 6-12 months

Our Client is looking for a Storage Engineer to undertake a long term contract onsite with their Government customer.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, maintenance, security, and day-to-day monitoring of storage infrastructure
• Coordinate and manage overall system maintenance
• Analyse, log, track and resolve complex software/hardware matters relating to networking connectivity issues, servers, and applications
• Coordinates hardware/software installations and upgrades
• Coordinates and monitors troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system problems; documents system events to ensure continuous functioning
• Oversees the installation of client department-specific applications and systems
• Coordinates testing, upgrades and configuration of system files and services
• Provide root cause analysis and resolution for alerts and events and resolve incidents in response to escalated tickets

Essential Experience/Skills

• Experience with administering Windows Operating Systems and Windows Operating Systems environment
• Experience with storage network devices
• Know storage concepts, disc technology, storage architectures, storage management, and storage and networking protocols, such as Fiber Channel protocols and Internet Small Computer System Interface (iSCSI)
• Demonstrated proficiency in key solutions such as Data Sharing, Network Attached Storage (NAS), Disaster Recovery preparation, and integration of these capabilities with Cloud Computing and Cyber architectures
• Possess experience working with vendor-neutral storage networking solutions and technologies
• Ability to work with cluster file systems and other technologies to provide redundancy and availability for server farms and applications
