Marketing Manager

Location: Birmingham or London

Duration: 3 Months [initially]

EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY: Sopra Steria is currently recruiting for a Marketing Manager to lead on the creation and delivery of a focused marketing communications plan to drive a specific revenue stream within our business.

This is a sales focused role with success being measured in terms of revenue, customer feedback and Sopra Steria's ability to come up with new ideas for services, as well as to identify where there are gaps in the portfolio.


In particular we would look to measure the market's awareness of our services and our profile within the market and the Marketing Manager will support the Services Manager in driving this revenue stream and the positive awareness objectives.

The services provide increased convenience and choice for people allowing them to submit key evidence and personal information in a more secure way, via digital solutions.


Key Responsibilities/Accountability

  • The role will include responsibility for managing an agency selling advertising space on a public website where there will be around 600,000 users per annum, many requiring additional services to help them complete their applications.
  • Content Promotion will be a key channel to raise the profile.
  • Work with our key subcontractor and client to advertise on demand pop up services
  • Create and distribute a newsletter, aimed at interested parties
  • Refresh collateral on the public facing website and various client offices, providing a strong focus on the benefits provided. This content will then need to be updated on a regular basis.
  • Experience of working in a B2C sales aligned role within an e-commerce environment
  • Experience of working within a large and complex matrix organisation
  • Strong experience of driving sales revenue through targeted marketing programmes and traditional sales methods
  • Can demonstrate the ability to create newsworthy stories for media, understands how to write content for blogs, social media and digital channels in order to provoke interest and engagement with products and services. Has experience of developing stories across the value chain from awareness through to conversion
  • Ability to quickly understand the business objectives laid out by the Added Value Service Manager and to create and deliver a marketing plan to drive the AVS revenue and brand objectives
  • Experience of copywriting and developing content is essential.
  • Ability to proactively recommend actions plans as a result of online feedback via digital sites is key
  • Knowledge of SEO would be an advantage
  • Experience of working within a large and complex matrix organisation
