General Description of Job
 
Reporting to the Site Operations Manager (SOM) via the Senior Driver the Driver Handler is to ensure the provision of professional driving for all nominated tasks as required to meet or exceed  customer expectations and LAFT2 contractual needs at all times. 
 
To carry out Ground Handling/movement of Aircraft, Flight Line Operations, Refuelling aircraft, aircraft cleaning and general duties as required.
 
Carry out Check A Maintenance.
 
Main Tasks
 
Bowser driving on shift to support flying operations.
Daily/weekly and any other maintenance required to ensure bowser availability to support flying operations.
Undertake any driving duties as required by the Contract in any location.
Control all Vehicle related administration within VOSA/RAFMT /DGSA & BABCOCK guidelines.
Ensure all aspects of the MT contract are fulfilled within the required time frames and budget.
Ensure all licenses, medicals and competencies are maintained.
Communicate with the customer and the Site Manager daily to ensure possible contract failures are avoided.
Maintain Best practice and Health and Safety standards at all times.
Promote best practice, report bad practice and non-compliance and take preventative action to ensure continual improvement in the organisation.

Carry out Check A Maintenance.
Champion a Total safety Approach. Ensure full compliance at all times with all relevant Health, Safety and Environment regulations and exercise a Duty of Care promoting a positive approach towards workplace health and safety
Must meet eye colour vision of CP2/CP3 for airfield airside operations.
Mentor new starters.
Adhere to and champion Babcock Policies e.g. Diversity, Home Safe, Dignity & Respect.
Carry out any other duties as required to support the contract.
 
Technical Experience and Qualifications
 
Essential
 
PSV, LGV & ADR qualified.
Clean Driving Licence.
Working knowledge of RAF/VOSA/DGSA and Babcock Transport administration.
Working knowledge of Transport & Driver legal requirements.
Ability to demonstrate practical and theoretical standards required.
 
Desirable
 
Experience of working within a military environment.
Experience of handling aircraft in a military or civilian EASA Pt 145 environment.
Grob 115 E Handling Course.
Check A course.
Familiar with Military Documentation.
