General Description of Job
 
The T2 Depth Manager is responsible to T2 Hangar Manager for coordinating and managing all aspects of Depth Operations within the Hawk AJT contract at RAF Valley. Deputising for the T2 Hangar Manager as required. Hold line management responsibility for all Babcock personnel matters within the Depth environment.
 
Main Tasks
 
The T2 Depth Manager is responsible for;
  • The safe and efficient day to day operation of the Moran Depth area.
  • The safe and timely delivery of all aircraft in the Depth environment.
  • Ensure PDRs are carried out for all staff within line management responsibility.
  • Carry out Competency Assessments for all staff within line management responsibility.
  • Carry out PIRMSs and PORMs and be responsible for the delivery of all CI initiatives resulting from these meetings.
  • Liaising with appropriate personnel when maintenance latitudes are to be extended.
  • Informing the appropriate direct reports of all deficiencies in manpower, equipment or performance that could adversely affect the ability of the Enterprise to meet its contracted obligations efficiently and economically.
  • Liaising with support areas for maintenance requirements beyond Babcock UKMA levels of contracted capability.
  • The maintenance of good tool control practices.
  • Ensure agreed levels of Serviceable GSE are available for the T2 Depth Operation.
  • Carrying out additional tasks as may, from time to time, be required by higher authority.
  • Maintain Airworthiness standards as determined by Hawk UK Head of Fleet Operations.
  • Maintaining a PEVL to establish continuity of experience. Ensure that all tradespersons return the individual PEVLs for validation of entries on a regular basis.
  • Ensuring only suitably trained, qualified and authorised engineers are used to carry tasks requiring external specialist services, i.e. NDT.
  • When requested attend Contract, Engineering and Safety Meetings.
  • Ensure all reports are delivered on time.
  • Implementing company procedures for all personnel employed within the Moran Hangar with regard to the following;
    • Discipline, dismissal, sickness and other personnel matters.
    • Employee relations matters.
    • Breeches of security (Physical and Cyber), both Military and Commercial.  
  • Assist with management of Staff Recruitment as Hiring Manager.
  • Assist with Training & Development of staff.
  • Deliver Briefings to Customer & Staff.
  • Carry out the duties of T2 Hangar Manager in their absence.
  • Preparing for estimates / actual recovery of costs agreed or identified for;
    • Unscheduled & non-standard recoveries.
    • Overtime payments outside normal operations.
  • Ensure a suitable alternative controllers is appointed during the absence of either shift Rectification Controller.
  • Maintain engineering standards as detailed in
    ORGANISATION EXPOSITION (MOE) & MRP 145 Approval Supporting DocumentsMAOS MAI MRP PART 145 MAINTENANCE
  • Ensure Hawk Enterprise Quality Assurance and Safety, Health and Environmental procedures are implemented and complied with at all times.
 
Technical Experience and Qualifications
 
Essential
 
  • Educated to HNC/HND qualifications or appropriate equivalent aviation engineering experience
  • Demonstrable experience or working within an aviation environment with a sound knowledge of Military Aviation Safety
  • Knowledge of MAOS MRP Part 145, ISO 9001:2008 and MAA Regulations
  • Experienced in Project Management tools and techniques
  • Working knowledge and use of IT Operating Systems (MS Office Suite) and the Internet.

  • Full UK Driving Licence
